Privacy Policy

Summary

Hadith of the Day is a local-first reading app. Your reading data stays on your device. The app does not include public profiles, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. Bundled hadith content works offline. The only external service is Google AdMob, which displays a banner ad on the Feed tab.

Data Stored On Device

The app may store the following data locally on your device:

Local account or guest session state
Saved hadith IDs
Read hadith IDs and read dates
Reading preferences (Arabic/translation visibility, text sizes)
Reminder settings (enabled state, selected time)
Notes and user-created collections
Remote feed quota state (cycle, cursor, delivered IDs, source policy, last refresh time)

This data is used to provide app features: saved items, reading preferences, daily reminders, offline reading, no-repeat feed behaviour, notes, and collections.

Data Shared Off Device

The app does not send your account, saved, read, note, collection, or preference data to any app backend.

You may choose to share data off device through Android system actions:

Sharing hadith text or an image card through the Android share sheet
Exporting local app data through the Android share sheet

The destination app you select controls what happens after sharing.

Reminders And Notifications

Daily reminders are opt-in. On Android versions that require notification permission, the app requests permission only after you enable reminders. Scheduling uses Android system APIs only.

The app displays a banner advertisement served by Google AdMob on the Feed tab. AdMob may use the Advertising ID on your device to serve contextual ads. You can reset or opt out of personalised ads through your Android device settings under Privacy → Ads.

Data Export And Deletion

Settings includes a local data export and a clear-local-reading-data control. The export creates a plain-text snapshot sent through the Android share sheet only when you start the export. The clear flow removes saved IDs, read state, preferences, reminder settings, feed quota state, notes, and collections from local storage. Sign-out is handled separately.

Content Sources

Hadith content includes visible source metadata: provider, reference, grade, attribution, source URL, and verification date where available. All content comes from verified sources and passes human review before appearing in the app.
